Vitamix 7500 REVIEW

Container not dishwasher safeVitamix 7500 is not dishwasher safe and must be cleaned by adding detergent and water and turning it on.

Black flecks – A tiny number of reviewers (relative to the total) mentioned that on their first uses they could see little black flecks in the food they made with the 7500. It was also mentioned in the question section on the Vitamix Amazon page, however this is a known issue and Vitamix have assured all customers that these tiny flecks are completely inert, they are in no way harmful and that they will help customers who notice them.

If you notice it and do not want to use that container, you can speak to them. Normally, they replace the jug. Only a tiny number of containers seem to have the problem, so a new jug (which would be promptly delivered by Vitamix) solves the issue.

The 7500 is shorter by 3 inches Compare d to the 5200 and 6300, which makes it easier to store. It is also much quieter as well yet the motor is more powerful at 2.2HP. But the 7500 doesn’t have the preset programming that the 6300 has. It also doesn’t have pre-programmed settings.

Vitamix 6300 REVIEW

Pre programmed settings were useless when making a smoothie. It does have a burning smell at times. Also, it changes gears on its own, you could hear the motor starting out slow and eventually speeding up; although, there were times that it felt like it was slowing down on its own when it was struggling to blend.

It is so noisy that you can never use this in an apartment building, or when anyone is asleep, or with a baby in the house. It sounds like you are starting up the engines at the Indy 500!

Every time you make a smoothie, they have ended up being much too liquid. You will need to add ice or shorten the time frame if you are looking for a Jamba Juice consistency.

The machine is just too big. At 20 inches tall, it does not fit on counters, beneath the cabinets.

They make a newer version that does fit under the counter although it is more expensive.

Vitamix Pro 750 REVIEW

It does epitomize a more modern design. It’s also more expensive than the 6300 (and probably all the other models out there. it has a more powerful motor which means it consumes more electricity).

Unfortunately, the 750 blender jug and lid are not dishwasher-friendly.

You may find black substances in the water after each cleaning. They seemed to leak from the blade area. It was difficult to clean even after blending with water/soap/vinegar over 20 times and couldn’t get rid of those black things. After speaking with Vitamix customer service, they said it’s just carbon but the next time they seemed to change their mind and said, “It’s leakage of grease of bearing, but it’s not harmful”. Even after replacing the container and receiving a new container, the same problem persists.

It leaks out of the bottom seal such that it won’t be usable anymore.
It doesn’t fit under the counter by over an inch. It’s just too tall. Machine worked great until the on off button got loose and stopped sitting flush in its housing. While trying to gently move it back into position the button broke apart into about 5 pieces!

It just didn’t seem to pull the frozen fruit down and chop it all up. They were frozen chunks, more like ice cream.

It looked very cheaply made for a blender that cost as much as this did. The grinding of some herbs and spices may also cause the blade to dull over time, or the container to crack. This is not covered under the warranty and is outlined in your owner’s manual and cookbook.

It is incredibly loud! Like operating a jack hammer in your kitchen it is expensive! It produces a smell at high speed like electricity shorting. It’s not easy scooping the resulting food from the container (therefore producing a lot of waste).

It is difficult to clean. The hummus stayed stuck to it even after two cleaning cycles. The bottoms are not removable for easier cleaning and the price is off putting. Blendtec is priced far more reasonably if you’re looking for the same performance and quality.

  1. Vitamix 6500 motor is 2.2 HP peak output. You have incorrectly mentioned it as 2 HP.

I spoke to Vitamix customer service and given to understand that 6500 (C series) sold in Costco and Pro 750 & 7500 (G series) have the same motor 2.2 HP peak output. Only the housing body is different in each of the model. G series models have unique housing body that contains ‘HUSH PAD’ which makes it quieter.

    • Thank you for the clarification because I just purchased one from Facebook that was birthed on May 3, 2017.
