Compare REVIEW: Kurio Xtreme 2 vs Nabi 2
Kurio Xtreme 2 REVIEW
The tablet is designed in a very sleek way with simple design that fits the hand perfectly with its 7-inch display. The grip on Kurio Xtreme 2 is very firm and has thoughtfully placed buttons that click and respond quickly. Overall its construction is very good as opposed to similar tablets. The addition of silicone case and screen protector adds up to its longevity and makes it perfect for kids. The ends are well guarded but the sides and rear does not have similar protection to keep thin which can be a safety concern.
Performance wise Kurio Xtreme 2 is very smooth and functions quickly between apps, during scrolling and surfing through the layouts. And under extreme use, the tablet provides over 5 hours of run time on a single charge which is a commendable feature. The main reason why Kurio Xtreme 2 works well is its parental feature. The app management provision for parents gives them control over the usage and restrictions on web browsers easily. It can even be spread over days as play periods and amount of time allotted for games. The children’s interface is also very easy to follow so kids can use it without any help.
Nabi 2 REVIEW
Design wise Nabi 2 is pretty sleek and tough. The bumper is of high-quality to withstand drops and still functions perfectly. Also it is made from food-grade silicone material to keep a non-toxic environment around children. The front camera is decent for video chatting via Skype or take selfies but can be better considering it is only 2MP. The speakers are placed on the rear-side and are loud enough but it is suggested to use earphones for better clarity. The down side of Nabi 2 is its screen which has a resolution lesser over other competitors. Also it is not the new-age IPS LCD, which makes it difficult to view from various angles. For standard sized video viewing it provides decent output from the right angle.
When it comes to apps, Nabi 2 is preloaded with lots of games and interactive learning apps that can help children learn and grow. The problem is many apps are just a starter version and need to be upgraded. The bright side is that the inclusion of Google Play allows parents to download freely available apps for kids from their account and allow for usage on the children’s Nabi mode. Performance wise the tablet is quick and has decent graphics processing for kid-centric games. The battery life is also good with over 8 hours of functioning. The highlight of Nabi 2 is the parental control which helps in keeping a tab on what the kids are using, providing them a chore list and educating them in a fun and interactive way.
